Gales Brewery
A totally new website design which would give a totally new look to the
company. Our other sites for them were getting a cool 80,000 hits a month so
by taking this over from another company we had a lot of plans for the right
site. In it's second month online the website had 300,000 hits in that one
month, the new Gales website was blowing a storm. |
What we wanted to achieve
With over 150 years of heritage as one of the countries most successful
independent breweries, there was a lot to get in and most importantly in a
respectful way to their longstanding customers. We wanted a traditional feel
with history and plenty of background, but displayed in a fresh and innovative
way which would not alienate anyone.
Using a lot of existing images and marketing from all our Point of Sale
projects for the company we designed a site which was informative and also
followed product branding throughout. We have innovations like a moving
history timeline through to a ‘porthole' webcam design from a feed coming from
the top of one of the companies pubs. Alongside full sections on beer ranges
to recipes on how to cook with them. The site design was very flexible, where
we can add new sections into the animated dropdown at later stages.
The site is growing daily from new pubs added via an editing system by the
client and with people logging onto the guestbook from all over the world to
give their appreciation to Gales. We have our own in-house design of an online
darts game and an old favourite of ‘two of a kind', people just keep coming
back.
